Hair Care Tips

I recently posted my hair care routine and thought I'd follow up with some hair care tips that I've been doing lately to treat my hair nicer and healthier. Ever since dying my hair, my hair has become so much more drier especially because of the bleach. I'm currently trying to restore my hair back to health. These tips have helped my hair for quite a while now and thought I'd share!

1. Use less heat! Whether it's a flat iron, curling iron or blow dryer, let it go or reduce how often you heat style your hair and always use a heat protectant. I rarely use heat on my hair whether it's a flat iron or a curling iron, I try to avoid it as much as possible and it really makes a difference.
2. Wash your hair less often. I usually wash my hair 3-4 times a week. Washing your hair everyday strips the natural oils out of your hair. In between hair washing days use dry shampoo! I also use a cotton t-shirt to dry my hair to tame the frizz compared to towel drying your hair.
3. Don't brush your hair when wet. When you wash your hair when wet, it breaks more which causes split ends! After washing my hair I wait until my hair is 25-50% dry (depending on how much time I have) and brush from the ends up to my roots with a wet brush.
4. Take your vitamins! Biotin is a MUST for hair growth! Hair, Skin, Nails vitamins also help hair growth but straight Biotin is the way to go for hair growth.
5. Castor oil. Castor oil is an essential to promote hair growth! Massage it onto your scalp and leave it for an hour or so like a mask. It also helps eyelashes and eyebrows!
6. Trim your hair. I hate hair cuts! But cutting off the dead ends does help your hair grow faster and healthier.
