Self-love is something we can all work on and it's something we should all strive towards. Self-love isn't selfish, conceited, or bad. It's the ability to know your own worth, respect yourself and know yourself, regardless of what anyone says or makes you think. Too many of us search for love in other people. We become dependent of having someone else fill in the love that we lack to give ourselves. Instead of waiting for love from someone else, give it to yourself first.
Be the love of your own damn life. Be the object of your affections, your own best friend, and best supporter. Be there for yourself when no one else is. Believe in yourself when no one else will. Then, you will attract love, respect and people who believe in you too. Fill yourself up with your own love, single or not. A person filled with love will eventually become so full, they have no choice but to give it others freely. Be that person.
There's no right or wrong way to do it, everyone does it in their own way. These are a few ways to practice self-love.
Be mindful of what you are thinking, feeling, saying as much as you can. When you notice that you're focused on the negative, turn your focus into something positive. Be aware of how you talk to yourself and your thoughts.
Eliminate any toxicity in your life. Remove everything that don't help you grow.
Practice self-care. Take care of your body, mind and soul. Nurture your body and be aware about what you put into your body. Diet, exercise, meditate, get enough sleep, develop a skin care routine.
Don't compare yourself to others. It's okay to look up to others but don't bring yourself down. Remember to embrace who you are! Nobody's perfect and we all have flaws. As long as you're trying to succeed that's all that matters.
Live your life with purpose! Challenge yourself and set goals for yourself that'll make you feel good and proud when you accomplish them.
Find what makes you feel alive! Your career, hobbies, anything as long as you're benefiting from it.
Bring out the best in you by doing more things you're good at! You'll appreciate your many talents more when you engage in the things you can do.
Express more gratitude and be thankful for all of the blessings in your life. Write down something you're grateful for everyday.
As humans, we are our own worst critics but learn to forgive yourself. We all have flaws and make mistakes. have se each opportunity, good or bad, to grow. Be gentle with yourself.
Don’t forget to fall in love with yourself first. No one will ever make you feel complete but yourself. Love and embrace who you are. When you have an unconditional love for yourself, others will sense it. No healthy relationship is built to stand on an incomplete foundation.
I hope you enjoyed today's post about self-love! Be kind to yourself today and everyday. Do the things that make you happy and live life with purpose.
xo, Jasmine
