My Skin Care Routine

Hello guys! So I thought my first post should be my skincare routine. Yes makeup is fun, but skincare is so important! I have oily, acne prone skin and have struggled with acne since I was in middle school. I didn't know how to take care of my skin and I would use the products my mom purchased for me from brands like Proactiv, Neutrogena and products the dermatologist prescribed me. The one product that really helped clear up my skin was the St. Ives Apricot Scrub. However, I stopped using it because it's a bit harsh and I started using more natural products. Also, the older I get the clearer my skin has gotten except for my hormonal breakouts I get when aunt flo is going to make her monthly visit. If you want to read about the products I use just keep reading!

L-R: Mario Badescu Acne Facial Cleanser, Thayers Witch Hazel Rose Petal Toner, First Aid Beauty Oil Free Mattifying Gel
Mornings: In the morning, I keep my skincare pretty simple with just cleanser, toner and moisturizer.
I use the Mario Badescu acne cleanser to wash my face. This is really gentle, doesn't foam but leaves your skin feeling clean. Then I tone with the Thayers Witch Hazel  Toner in Rose Petal. Lastly, I moisturize with the First Aid Beauty Mattifying Gel to help keep me matte throughout the day.
L-R: Mario Badescu Acne Facial Cleanser, Mario Badescu Special Cucumber Lotion, Mario Badescu Vitamin C serum, Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water, Yes to Tomatoes Daily Balancing Moisturizer
Night: At night I do a few more steps to my routine. Of course I need to remove my makeup but I hate makeup wipes! So I use the Garnier Micellar Water to remove all of it with a cotton round. I cleanse with the same Mario Badescu Face Cleanser. Then I take a cotton round and pat the Mario Badescu Special Cucumber Lotion. When it's dry, I apply a bit of the Mario Badescu Vitamin C serum. I use this every other day as it suggests on the bottle. The days I don't apply it, I apply the Trader Joe's Vitamin E Oil which helps diminish dark spots. I recently started using it and I think it is working well in conjunction with the Vitamin C serum. Next, I apply a bit of eye cream (not pictured because I need a new one). Lastly I apply the Burts Bees Moisturizer. I'm planning on purchasing a new moisturizer once I finish this one. If you guys know of any that work well with oily skin let me know!

L-R: Trader Joes Vitamin E Oil & Mario Badescu Drying Lotion
If I have any pimples, I use a q-tip and apply the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion and in the morning they're usually gone or smaller than the night before.

L-R: Derma E Microdermabrasion Scrub & Muddy Body Detox Mask
Weekly: 1-2x a week I like to exfoliate and apply a face mask.
To exfoliate my skin I use the Derma E Microdermabrasion Scrub. It's a pretty gentle exfoliator and smells really good as well so that's a plus!
The face mask that really helped clear up my skin last year when I started breaking out horribly is the Muddy Body Detox Clay Mask. THIS WORKS WONDERS! It really draws out all the impurities in your skin. 10/10 I would definitely recommend!

Also the last thing I like to do at night before bed is just spray the Mario Badescu Facial Spray either in Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater or Aloe, Cucumber and Green Tea. This keeps my skin feeling refreshed and hydrated.

So that's my skincare routine! I'm trying to keep it very minimal but these are all the products I use. Remember that everyone's skin is different and may not work for you as it may work for me but definitely give these products a try and see if they work for your skin!

Thank you all so much for reading!
