Hey guys! So I wanted to share some artists that I've been loving lately! I've been out of my comfort zone lately, listening to more R&B and stuff. I've been enjoying some new artists and some I already loved. I usually listen to indie, rock, alternative, etc but I'm always willing to expand my music library and add new music to my Spotify playlists so if you have any recs let me know~
1) SZA - Ctrl
When this album was released in June I fell in love with it and I'm still falling more in love with it. Her voice is beautiful and the lyrics are so relatable. My favorite tracks are Garden (Say It Like Dat), The Weekend, Supermodel, and Love Galore. I wish I was going to her show coming up in September but it's sold out. *sad face*
2) Khalid - American Teen
The first song I heard from this album was Location on the radio as I was driving and I didn't know who it was so I shazamed it and I had no idea who Khalid was. So I looked him up on Spotify and listened to the album and I really liked it. He has a really nice voice that brings me feel some type of way to put it simply, haha. Some of my favorite tracks are Coaster, Saved and Shot Down.
3) Cuco
My best friend Gaby introduced me to Cuco when I saw her screenshot a song she was listening to on her Instagram story and I loved the album art on Songs4u. I've been listening to both of his albums lately and I AM IN LOVE! We went to his show a few weeks ago and we were all the way in the front. It was a magical night. My favorites on Wannabewithu are Lover is a Day, Amor de Siempre and Mindwinder. On Songs4u I love One and Only, We Had to End It, and Lava Lamp. And of course I love the single Lo Que Siento.
4) Lana Del Rey - Lust for Life
I have loved Lana since way back so I was excited when this album was going to release. Upon hearing Love and Lust for Life ft. The Weeknd, I thought it was going to be a happier album but she still manages to make me feel sad LOL. My favorites are 13 Beaches, Cherry, White Mustang, Tomorrow Never Came, and Beautiful People Beautiful Problems. Despite seeing her live twice in the past, I wish I could've gone to her show at the House of Blues but I was on vacation. *cries*
I really liked Lorde's first album, Pure Heroine. I was excited to hear that she was releasing a new album. Upon listening to the first single, Green Light, I was like...this sounds way more pop as does the rest of the album when it was released. I'm not that into pop but I still gave it a chance. and all I have to say is WHO IS BROKE LORDE'S HEART? The lyrics in this album are killer man. My favorite songs are Hard Feelings/Loveless and Writer in the Dark.
