October wasn't really an exciting month in the beauty world for me as I stuck to my already well loved products and trying to save money! I didn't purchase too much new makeup or skincare and the ones I did, I'll mention below! I did purchase the ABH Subculture palette with a 20% off coupon from Ulta but I need to try it out some more. This is going to include other random items so I hope you guys enjoy!
1) I really didn't need to buy another foundation but I really wanted to try out the Too Faced Peach Perfect Comfort Matte Foundation and I'm glad I did! It's a lightweight, medium coverage foundation. My skin has been acting good lately so I cover my whole face with one layer of foundation. It's not cakey at all and lasts a while on the skin. I also think the shade Warm Beige is a really good match for my skin tone.
2) I needed a good blotting powder to carry in my bag for touch ups during the day. I heard a lot of good things about the KVD blotting powder and I'm obsessed! I got it in the shade light. It doesn't mess up my makeup application or make it look cakey which is nice. I got it in the shade Light and works well for my skin tone.
3) I've been anticipating Rupi Kaur's new book
The Sun and Her Flowers since the moment she announced it. The day it was released I went to Barnes and Noble to purchase it. I read it in about three days and it made me feel all the emotions. It was so beautiful! I THINK I enjoyed it more than Milk and Honey. It was beautifully written and I think everyone should read it.
4) I have curly unmanageable hair which I hate having to deal with. I usually use a wide tooth comb to untangle it after washing it but I wanted to try the infamous Wet Brush that many talk about! I got it at Target on a whim and used it a few days later. I sprayed on my hair detangler and combed from the bottom up and it just glided through my hair so easily. I just hate how the hair gets stuck on it which can be difficult to take off but it's no big deal.
5) I needed a new top coat so I decided to try the Seche Vive Instant Gel Effect Top Coat. I read good reviews and like their regular top coat too. I got it at Sally's Beauty Supply in a set that came with their base coat (which is also good) and it left my nail polish looking so so shiny, less chipping and nail polish lasts longer. It also dries really fast which is a plus for me!
6) The weather is getting colder which means my lips are getting drier. Also liquid lipsticks don't help but this Aquaphor lip balm has helped my lips tremendously! It has helped my lips feel more moisturized after a few uses which I definitely needed. To me it works better than other chapsticks and other petroleum based products. In my opinion it's not good over lipsticks. It's better to use it on its own during your night time routine.
7) I have a love-hate relationship with Victoria's Secret because it takes all my money. I finally got sucked in in June for their credit card and I get coupons constantly so I feel like I need to use them haha. I'm pretty small in the boob department and find bras uncomfortable so I love bralettes. However, I really liked this style because it has a very light padding. They're really comfortable and come in super cute colors (I have like five now). The lace trim on the bottom is also so pretty!
thank you all so much reading! comment your favorites for the month of October!
