January 2018 Favorites

The first month of the new year has come and gone! I didn't really purchase any new beauty products this month so this month was more about discovering products I already had in my collection. I'm really trying to finish products I own instead of buying so much new (unless it's something great lol) in hopes of being more minimal. So far it's been working great but I already have a small list of products I want to buy soon, lol. Without further adu, let's get into my January favorites!

1) The Balm's Schwing Liquid Eyeliner is nothing new to me. This is probably my third repurchase of this eyeliner but I had stopped using it because I was trying out other liners. It is super black, matte and the felt tip brush helps you create the perfect sharp wing. It's easy to use for these type of liners. The Balm's packaging is always super cute too!

2) Urban Decay Perversion Mascara is also nothing new to me. I had a few backups in my makeup stash so I decided to start using it again as I had ran out of mascara. This is one of my all time favorite mascaras. It gives me length, volume, and is super black. I can apply a few layers and it doesn't clump. 

3) I ran out of my night time moisturizer so I decided to use my Trader Joes Vitamin E Oil as my moisturizer. I would use this on any scars I had on my body. But I also have a few acne scars and after a few uses I can see a difference. My skin is more smooth and evenly toned. It's not harsh on the skin, not too oily or clog my pores. You only need very little for your entire face and also plays a big part in the aging process because of all its benefits. 

4) I purchased the Sunday Riley U.F.O. Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil during the Sephora VIB sale. First things first, the smell isn't pleasant but it doesn't bother me. It lingers a bit but the scent fades down quickly. But this product has really been helping me with my acne and clearing up my skin. I apply it at night and the next morning my skin feels more smooth and less congested.   A little goes a long way, so despite the price you can make it last a while. 

5) I've decided that I'm never buying a beauty blender ever again as there's so many affordable options now that work just as good. I purchased the Morphe Highlight & Contour Sponge online Ulta. It expands to a nice bigger size and doesn't soak up much foundation when wet. It's a bit more dense but still very soft. I use one of the flat edges to blend foundation, the pointy side to blend concealer and cream highlight and the other flat edge to set my face with translucent powder.

Another favorite this month was probably dying my hair back to dark brown. I had blonde hair for two years! Blonde hair was good while it lasted although the damage my hair has gone through has not been so hot, haha. But it's looking much more healthier now so I'm happy with that!
